Scootertrix the Abridged is an abridged series created by Jack Getschman from Scootertrix Studios. He voices all of the characters in the series excluding Princess Luna, General Loo (Scootaloo), Spooky Spoons (Silver Spoon), and Trixie. Like many other abridged series, Scootertrix follows the original airing order of My Litte Pony when parodying episodes, but it has also worked to create it's own lore and war(-ish) plot. The fantasy setting of the series is generally similar to the show, allowing for large amounts of humor to be derived from deconstruction and critique of the numerous inconsistencies present in episodes. Much of the main cast resembles the canon characters, but with subtle (or large) tweaks to the personality along with many unique twists. Scootertrix tends to stray away from common tropes while, on occasion, referencing and poking fun at other popular abridged series.
The new release for Scootertrix the Abridged is usually on the first of each month, but Getschman deviated from this schedule on March 1st, 2016. An announcement video was published later that day explaining the delay. Episode 17 released as planned on the 1st of April and Episode 18 was later aired on the 30th before returning to the normal schedule. After a 5 month hiatus, Episode 19 was aired on October 1st, 2016. The planned schedule henceforth was to release a new episode each week, but due to complications this will not be happening for the duration of October.
Along with the main series are "Scootertrix the Abridged Specials" including a crossover with Friendship is for Adults, another abridged series which is created by TheKanterlot. This marked the first crossover between two different abridged series for My Little Pony. The other specials include an abridgment of the popular fan animation Snowdrop by Silly Filly Studios and a parody of the cannon episode Luna Eclipsed focusing much more on the character of Luna than comedy.
Jack Getschman and Cris Galvez, in character as Celestia and Luna, have also released two reaction dramatizations, one to the fan animation, Lullaby for a Princess, and the other to various My Little Pony toy commercials aired on television. These videos are not initial viewings and are not scripted. The reaction to Lullaby for a Princess is "not cannon to the Scootertrix the Abridged universe" while the toy reaction is "debatably cannon in the Scootertrix the Abridged universe." These reactions can be found in the Other Videos playlist.
A partner series to Scootertrix the Abridged is Royal Correspondence which is a continuation of the crossover with Friendship is for Adults by TheKanterlot in which the Luna from each dimension began a correspondence with each other, hence the title. The release schedule is every two weeks, although, Episode 5 was late due to visual effects. On every day of release, one episode, from the perspective of Scootertrix's Luna, will be released on the Scootertrix Studios channel, while the other, from the perspective of TheKanterlot's Luna will be released on that channel instead.
There was an official hiatus between Episode 18 and Episode 19 in the Scootertrix the Abridged series. The hiatus for Royal Correspondence is still ongoing. Commentary tracks were released up to Episode 15 to replace other content.
As the name suggests, these are commentaries of each Scootertrix the Abridged episode by Jack Getschman. In the episodes, Getschman discusses what goes in to making each scene and events that occurred during the development of episodes. He sheds some light on his thought process while writing the script or editing scenes and gives personal opinion on a multitude of Scootertrix related topics.
