Roid Rage is a fan given name to a pegasus pony that first appeared in Hurricane Fluttershy, known for his unique design.

He is an overly muscular pony with white coat, blonde mane, intense red eyes, tiny wings and a dumb-bell as a cutie mark. He is known for his one liner "yeeeahhh" and has been featured in fan art as comic relief and to underline a point. He also occasionally appears to create an awkward moment in an otherwise normal scene, typically interrupting two ponies in a conversation.

Since his debut, he has appeared attending the Wonderbolts Academy, as a member of Ponyville's relay team for the Equestria Games, and working as a masseuse at the Ponyville Day Spa. The season 7 episode "All Bottled Up" reveals that he also has a second job operating a food cart that sells cinnamon nuts.

Depictions in Fandom[]

A very common portrayal of Roid Rage is that he is on steroids, due not only to his large muscle mass, but also because of a mixture of his small wing size and the wingboner meme within the fandom. Fan generally give him little to no deep characterization in fan works, simply continuing to use him as a visual meme with his iconic "Yeeeahhh!", but he often appears to be aggressive and prideful of his muscles. Among the works he appears in is Double Rainboom by Zachary Rich and Rhythm is Magic by MysteryBen27, both in which he appears out of nowhere and shouts "Yeeeahhh!".

Fans have posited numerous relationships to other characters, e.g. making him Featherweight's father or Surprise's cousin.[FA 1][FA 2][FA 3]

Discussion on name[]

Roid Rage was not named in his original episode and thus his name was disputed among fans, who would refer to him by such names as Roid Rage, Thunderweight, Horse Power and Mr. BigMcLargeHuge. The name Snowflake was eventually given to him by Andy Price[1], and was also used in the novels Rainbow Dash and the Daring Do Double Dare and Applejack and the Honest-to-Goodness Switcheroo). In issue #12 of the comics, he was referred to as Rein Astley (a parody of the pop artist Rick Astley).

The name "Bulk Biceps" was first listed in Michael Dobson's online resume in October 2013[2] and was later used in Enterplay's collectible card game. It is also used by Rainbow Dash in the episode Rainbow Falls.
